Postcard villages in famous countryside
The Cotswolds are an Area of Outstanding National Beauty in the west of England spanning parts of Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire. Famed for its stunning countryside, quaint villages and expensive homes; the Cotswolds have long been where the London elite escape to.
A weekend in the Cotswolds is about viewing beautiful countryside, visiting historic villages, driving down beautiful windy roads and enjoying some of the best pubs in all of England. It is wonderful for families or as a romantic getaway.
There is endless argument, with everyone having their favourite, as to the most attractive and prettiest village in the Cotswolds. The only way to decide is to see them yourself, but notable names include: Bibury, Minster Lovell, Bourton-on-the-Water, Burford, Stow-on-the-Wold, Cirencester (capital of the Cotswolds), and Woodstock (home to one of the most impressive residences in England Blenheim Palace).
