History, fashion, food and fun. London has it all
London, capital of the United Kingdom, is one of the world’s leading destinations and it is no surprise. As Samuel Johnson said “If a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford.”
Distinctly British, London is home to such famous landmarks as Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Trafalgar Square and many more. As a global city London has a long history of assimilating other cultures from across the world - making it a truly global city.
The galleries and museums of London are equal to any, each of which can easily fill a day. Each have their own focus; The National Gallery specialises in famous masters, as the names suggest Tate Modern is for Modern Arts and Tate Britain specialises in famous British works. The British Museum includes (controversially) fascinating pieces from across the world.
The world famous west end is a much admired cultural attraction. Producing some of the famous and acclaimed theatre in the world including; Les Misérables, Cats and The Phantom of the Opera among many others.
Whilst a city, London is traditionally low level, with sky scrapers being a relatively new addition to the skyline. This spread out nature of the city has led to the incorporation of beautifully manicured parks as part of its landscape and are spread across the various districts.
