The Peak District is a 1,437sq km National Park in the north of England mainly in the county of Derbyshire.


Famed for the beauty of its countryside it has long been a destination for those seeking outdoor inspiration. Authors including; Jane Austen, William Wordsworth, Charlotte Bronte, Beatrix Potter, George Eliot and many more have been inspired and based their novels there.


Famed for its outdoor activities the district includes a number of walking trails, most notably: A large part of the Pennine Way (a 268 mile National Trail), High Peak Trail and Boundary Trail. These can take in the spectacular scenery on offer, of stunning peaks and valleys. The highest being Kinder Scout at 636m.


Beautiful villages include: Ashford-in-the-Water, Buxton, Castleton, Edale, Edensor, Eyam, Hartington, Hathersage and Tideswell.


There are a number of outstanding estates to view including; Chatsworth House setting of 2005 film for Pride and Prejudice and seat of the Dukes of Devonshire and Haddon Hall seat of the Dukes of Rutland.
